Is the new S90 RWD or FWD/AWD with extremely RWD-looking proportions?
I can’t tell if I’m missing it in the FP article or if it isn’t mentioned.
Either way, it is a very understated and pretty car both inside and out.

FWD base AWD mostly. FWD available if they want to hit a low price point with a T5 variant.

Knowing Volvo, it’s FWD with AWD optional. They don’t do RWD platforms. They’re like Lincoln or Acura.

I sort of figured it was FWD/AWD given Volvo hasn’t made a RWD car in quite some time, but those proportions gave me a bit of hope for RWD.

Volvo just has good designers. Look at the Mazda3 and Mazda6, they gave those cars RWD proportions as well despite being FWD.
Some car companies just have gud design.

I don’t see RWD. They want to keep costs down so it’ll be platform sharing meaning awd or fwd.
Awd T8 V90
My new dream car.

FWd with AWD optional.
I’m just waiting for them to make something smaller so I can convince my mom to get one.

Motor Trend just dropped an article saying it’s using the same modular architecture that underpins the XC90, which I don’t know why I didn’t assume they’d use that given it’s brand new.
I’ll take a midrange T6 AWD model. Black over tan or saddle if it’s offered.

Sharing means caring I guess!
I’m not complaining. A V90 for me, XC90 for the wife, and the C30 replacment for my weekend fun thing.

Make sure to get the Inscription for those sexy natural wood accents like the photos you posted.

I imagine a new S60 is coming really soon given the current one is getting up there in age.

I was hoping for something more 2001 S40/V40 in size.

FWD with AWD variants, like Acura.

I’m just sitting here trying to figure out what RWD looking proportions are like....

I noticed that about the Mazda3 too. The front overhang is smallest in its class, I think. And there is actually some fender behind the front wheels. It just makes me wonder why all other FWD cars need to have their front wheels so close to the dash and have huge overhangs.

Damn that interior is smooth.

That big of a gap between the dash front wheel is usually a RWD car thing I’ve always thought.

I think that’s all design based, I don’t think it’s an engineering requirement. I’ve seen it go both ways.

Mmm, it’s lovely. Getting a kind of Jaguar vibe from that grille. Nice looking interior but I’d prefer a darker tan and darker wood. 8/10 would compare with an XJ.

FWD/AWD, they just figured out how to properly proportion a car.

I think the 2017 400HP Hybrid version would be a nice trade for my 2005 VW Phaeton in the year 2020
